A group of high school seniors posed for a class-wide photo that was originally spelled out the phrase “Class of 2026 Always Legit.” But at some point, the students rearranged themselves to spell out the slur “Fa**ot.”
It’s still unclear whether they were targeting a specific student or simply trying to go viral—because that’s what kids seem to chase these days. Either way, the principal of Redwood High School called the act “unacceptable” and wasted no time disciplining all 10 students involved in what many are calling a reckless and harmful stunt.
“Yes, we can have a conversation about what kinds of consequences these kids should face, but the real issue is the environment that allowed that to happen in the first place,” said Erika Hawkyard of The Source LGBT+ Center, according to KTLA.
As of now, an investigation is also underway at Redwood High School and within the Visalia Unified School District.
