New Jersey Basketball Event ‘Nuttin But A**’ Canceled After Graphic Promo Video Sparks Outrage 

A celebrity basketball tournament that was supposed to take place at high school in New Jersey has been canceled after the theme and promo video for the event sparked outrage. 

The “Nuttin But A**” Celebrity Baddies Basketball contest was canceled after a promotional video showed women twerking in the gym of West Side High School in Newark, New Jersey. The event which was initially scheduled for July 21, sparked outrage in the community. The school district and local politician distanced themselves from the event, and the tournament’s organizer, Big Fendi, issued an apology for the controversy.

Nancy Deering, Newark Public schools spokesperson stated that the event  “was supposed to be a community basketball event sponsored by” a local politician but once the promo video surfaced on social media they had to shut the event down. “No school or district official approved the activity depicted in the video, or knew that an event at one of our schools would include such activity,” Deering said in a statement to NJ.com 

After the event was shut down, the tournament’s organizer, celebrity music manager Big Fendi, issued an apology to the principal and councilman.

“I deeply apologize,” he said. “The content of this video, you knew nothing about. We were doing the event, and things went a little left and out of control. And I take full responsibility for that, because you guys had no knowledge what these girls would be wearing.”
