Charlamagne Tha God Declares Kendrick Lamar As The “King of Hip Hop”

Kendrick Lamar shocked the world last night after his ‘Pop Out’ concert in Los Angeles that was held on Juneteenth.

Of course this concert comes after his rap battle with Drake so fans were anticipating if he was going to perform the diss records that recently went viral. Kendrick Lamar and Drake have been involved in a rap feud since the early 2010s, with the feud escalating in March 2024. The feud seemed to have come to a halt after a series of attempted break-ins at Drake’s Toronto home. However, at Kendrick’s Juneteenth show, he added new lyrics to “Euphoria,” which included a reference to a ring previously owned by Tupac Shakur, bought by Drake at an auction. Kendrick rapped, “Give me Tupac’s ring back and I might give you a little respect”

Kendrick Lamar’s concert, “The Pop Out – Ken and Friends”, is named after a lyric from his song “Not Like Us”, a diss track aimed at Drake. The song, released a month ago, has been a huge success, reaching the top of the charts and becoming one of the most popular tracks in the feud between the two rappers.

Well reacting to the concert on The Breakfast Club, Charlamagne Tha God gave Kendrick his flowers and declared him as the “King of Hip Hop.”

“To me, the show was about Drake as much as it was Kendrick Lamar becoming the undisputed heavy weight champion of hip hop. When it comes to this new generation that we been watching for over the last 15 years, Kendrick is the king of Hip Hop and it’s not even close,” he said.

He continued, “and I’m not talking about charts or streaming records, I’m not talking about pop songs I’m talking about bars, rap, hip hop, and culture – Kendrick wears that crown and it’s not even close.”
