Young Thug Lawyer Seeks To Remove YSL Polo From RICO Trial Due To His Unprofessional Behavior & Extra Movements In Court

Dang! Young Thug‘s lawyer is seeking to remove one of his client’s co-defendants, YSL Polo, from their RICO trial due to Polo’s “unprofessional behavior” and “extra movements” show in court recently.

As of May 2023, Atlanta News First reported that there were nine defendants left in Thug’s YSL RICO trial, after another defendant had been severed from the huge organized crime and racketeering trial. The indictment first included 28 defendants. At the time, Fulton County Superior Court Judge Ural Glanville pulled Damone Blalock’s case from the Young Slime Life (YSL) RICO trial. His attorney Justin Hill confirmed the news.

A week prior, Judge Glanville severed Jayden Myrick from the trial over his own comments that he hadn’t taken his prescribed psychiatric medication. Before his severance, Myrick was already convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole in the July 2018 shooting of Christian Broder outside a Brookhaven country club.

Before Judge Glanville severed Damone Blalock and Jayden Myrick’s cases from the YSL trial, two weeks before Blalock’s severance, Glanville dropped two other defendants after one man’s attorney put in for maternity leave, while the other man got accused of passing drugs in court.

Teombre Calland, the attorney representing Kahlieff Adams, and Nicole Fegan, the attorney representing Tenquarius Mender, had both put in their requests. It is noted that Adams, who is serving life without parole for murder, was severed from the trial after he allegedly sliding a Percocet pill to Young Thug in open court.

Around the same time, another defendant, Miles Farley (accused in the death of Shymel Drinks), was severed after his attorney Anastasios Manettas was arrested on charges of simple battery on law enforcement officers, possession (pills not in original container), obstruction and disruption of court proceedings.

Back in May, Atlanta News First said the remaining nine defendants included:

  • Jeffery Williams, aka Young Thug
  • Derontae Bebee, aka “Bee” or “B”
  • Cordarius Dorsey, aka “Polo” or “Juicy”
  • Christian Eppinger, aka “Bhris”
  • Marquavius Huey, aka “Qua”
  • Deamonte Kendrick, aka “Yak Gotti”
  • Quamarvious Nichols, aka “Qua”
  • Rodalius Ryan, aka “Lil Rod”
  • Shannon Stillwell, aka “Shannon Jackson” or “SB”

Nearly four months later, Cordarius Dorsey, aka “YSL Polo” or “Juicy,” is now being asked to be removed from the YSL RICO trial, via Young Thug’s lawyer, over his “unprofessional behavior” and “extra movements.” The rapper’s attorney, Brian Steel, believes keeping Dorsey a part of his client’s trial may be doing more harm than good, and he has since filed a motion to sever parties.

In new documents obtained, Young Thug’s lawyer stated, “Jeffery Williams, by and through undersigned counsel, hereby files this Motion to Sever Parties in the above-referenced case. In support of this Motion, Mr. Williams shows as follows. 1) Mr. Williams is innocent of all charges in the above-referenced indictment. 2) Mr. Dorsey, a co-indictee, has displayed unprofessional and unacceptable conduct in Court, in the presence of this Honorable Court, as announced on the Record on Thursday, August 31, 2023.”

The documents continued, “3) Based upon information and belief, during a separate trial, Mr. Dorsey, using movements with his hands, threatened the prosecutors as well as the jurors. 4) Mr. Williams has filed a Demand for Speedy Trial and will not upset that Demand for Speedy Trial. However, Mr. Williams asks this Honorable Court to exercise its discretion and sever Mr. Dorsey so that Mr. Williams’ Constitutional right to a fair trial is not prejudiced.”

The documents even referenced an incident on Thursday, August 31, 2023 with Dorsey’s attorney, Surinder Chadha Jiminez, Esq. In a video that has made its rounds with the documents, YSL Polo is seen being called out for his “unprofessional behavior” and “extra movements,” leaving Attorney Jiminez to tell Judge Glanville how he would like to speak with him about his client’s competency.

The judge said he is duty-bound to deal with these new issues he’s presenting, and will do so accordingly. He also mentioned that he doesn’t necessarily believe that he’s doing it for attention, as his behavior has been pointed out by another justice.
