Chris Brown and Selena Gomez shared a message to their instagram stories after she was trending last night because of her reaction to the R&B singer being nominated for an award at the VMAs.
As we previously reported, during Tuesday’s ceremony Chris Brown was one of the nominees in the best R&B video category. Once his name was announced the camera quickly turned to Gomez and many fans felt like her facial expression seemed like she wasn’t to happy that he was in the category. After the clip went viral on social media a lot people had mixed feelings about her reaction. Well, it didn’t take Chris Brown to share a few words. In a now deleted Instagram story, Breezy said, “IM THE GOAT and you know it,” adding the smirk emoji with a red heart. Many fans felt like that was response was directed to Gomez’ reaction. The ‘Summer Too Hot’ singer followed up with another message to his account that read: “Let me mind my business.”

It didn’t take long for Gomez to respond either. Last night she shared a few words about the incident and said, “I will never be a meme again. I’d rather sit still than be dragged for being myself. Much love.” IheartRadio also shared the clip to their Instagram and the caption said, “Selena Gomez reacts to Chris Brown being nominated at the VMAs,” and Gomez commented under the post saying, “who cares.”
As we all know, one of the most significant controversies involving Chris Brown occurred in February 2009 when he was arrested for physically assaulting his then-girlfriend, singer Rihanna, on the night before the Grammy Awards. Brown pleaded guilty to felony assault and was sentenced to probation, community service, and domestic violence counseling. Since then Chris Brown’s career has also seen success in the music industry, with numerous hit songs and albums. However, his controversies have had a lasting impact on his public image, and he continues to face both support from his fans and criticism from those who believe he has not adequately addressed his past actions.
So its not clear if Gomez is not a fan of Chris Brown because of his past controversies but after her latest comment on IheartRadio’s page it seems like she isn’t fazed by what people have to say.
