Georgia Mother Arrested After Allegedly Being High On Heroin & Passing Out In Mcdonald's Drive-Thru With Her 1-Year-Old In The Car

Shocking body cam footage show a Cobb County mother passed out at a McDonald’s drive through with her child in the car. The mother is currently facing charges after police said she confessed to getting high on drugs and passed out behind the wheel of her car with her 1-year-old baby in the car.

Employees of the McDonald’s off Bells Ferry Road called 911 to report the woman, who police have since identified as Kelsey Warren.

“She’s clearly high off something, I don’t know,” an employee told dispatchers. “She’s still in there, and the baby was just sitting there looking.” Channel 2′s Michael Seiden was at Marietta Police Headquarters Wednesday, where he saw newly-released body camera video from the incident that shows the child alone in his car seat as Warren was taken into custody. The officers are upset as they try to console the baby. “Breaks my damn heart, brother,” said one of the officers at the scene. “Dude, I’d never seen anything like this.”

In arrest warrants obtained by Channel 2 Action News, authorities listed how Warren was having difficulty talking to them when they approached the scene.

“[She] had pinpoint pupils when she regained consciousness, had difficulty formulating sentences with long pauses between words, and admitted under Miranda to have ‘used’ heroin approximately 15 hours prior,” wrote the reporting officer. “She was also having a very difficult time staying awake throughout the encounter.”

Officer Chuck McPhilamy with Marietta police said an officer pulled a syringe from the car.

“What we found out later is that she is a heroin addict. Was using heroin. Had used it recently,” McPhilamy said. “There was also cocaine in the car.”

Paramedics checked out the child before he was turned over to the state. Investigators explained how this type of incident is very common. “Sadly, we get these calls multiple times a week,” Philamy said. “Not daily, but multiple times per week. It’s usually in the middle of an intersection.”

Warren remains behind bars facing multiple charges, including possession of a controlled substance, possession of cocaine, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, driving under the influence of drugs, an endangering a child by driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
