Millionaire New York Pharmacist Convicted Of Killing Her Son Has Been Found Dead In Her Brooklyn Home, Cops Suspect Possible Suicide

Gigi Jordan, the millionaire pharmacist who was convicted of killing her 8-year-old autistic son in a Manhattan hotel room, has been found dead. According to reports, Gigi’s body was discovered at her Brooklyn home on Friday morning, just one day after her bail had been revoked by Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, meaning she was expected to go back to prison.

Gigi was convicted of manslaughter back in November 2014 and sentenced to 18 years in prison after admitting to giving her son, Jude Michael Mirra, a lethal dose of medications. She claimed she became fearful that her ex-husband was going to kill her and potentially be granted custody of the boy, who Gigi believed was going to sexually abuse him.

Her cause of death has not yet been revealed, but police say they found a note at the scene of where her body was found, indicating it may have been a possible suicide. Gigi had been released from prison to home confinement in 2020 after she was granted a new trial due to her Sixth Amendment right being violated during her initial trial when Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Charles Solomon acceded to a prosecutor’s request to close the courtroom for 15 minutes.

One of Gigi’s attorneys, Norman Siegel, claimed that he had spoken to his client just hours before her tragic death when she was found at her apartment, which is why police are still investigating whether her passing was actually caused by suicide. Still, the fact that her bail had just been revoked and that Gigi was expected to head back to prison could also have been a detrimental played in her death.

Gigi not only provided her son with lethal medications but also took some herself in an apparent attempt to end both of their lives, contending that she and the young boy would have been better off dead to avoid her ex-husband being able to hurt either of them.

The court decision earlier this week to send her back to prison while a decision was being made on whether a new trial would be granted to her, as per Law & Crime. Gigi was released back in December 2020 after serving more than 10 years of her sentence, after also being ordered to pay a $250,000 bond while her case was being played out.
