A Michigan man was chased and attacked by the family of a teen girl he allegedly raped and the aftermath was captured on video.

Carmen Witherspoon told Fox Detroit 2 that she heard a commotion from her neighbor’s home and saw the rape suspect being severely beaten after the victim’s family learned what he did to the girl. Witherspoon added that the man was practically naked and covered in blood while surrounded by the victim’s vengeful relatives. “He managed to get up and he ran across the street, and he was on my property. He fell, he slipped and fell. And that’s when they beat him some more,” she further explained. Another witness, Marc D’Andre, said the family beaten the alleged rape suspect so bad that his top lip was “stomped off.”
“From what I heard, they stomped his top lip off. His mouth appeared to be very bloody and it was just like he was in an MMA fight,” he described. Additionally, there was a video of the aftermath after the family confronted him about the sexual assault.

However, the general consensus is that the neighborhood agrees with the family’s way of handling street justice.
“Whether it be swift street justice or through the court systems or jail systems, I think we need to raise awareness about this type of situation because too often it gets swept under the rug, and we have a lot of victims – both girls and boys.”
The Detroit Police Department said in a statement that the suspect has a previous warrant for a non-fatal shooting on the east side. Capt. Rebecca Hall McKay said officers took him into custody after the attack.
“It is in affecting a young life, a family, and it’s going to definitely take time to heal. It occurs at all ages. I would just ask the parents, teachers, advisers, administrators, friends, and family just always keep your eyes open. Listen if you see something – say something. Obviously, report any suspected abuse to the Detroit Police Department.”
No charges have been filed against the suspect as the police department is preparing a warrant package to send to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s office to make a decision on a charge.
