Just when you think people would finally learn that messing with Kim Kardashian comes with a heavy cost, somebody else turns around and proves the message still ain’t sinking in.
On Sunday afternoon, deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Lost Hills Station rushed over to the reality star’s locked-down neighborhood around 3:45 p.m. after getting an urgent call about a break-in in progress. Security guards on the grounds spotted a 27-year-old intruder casually loading up a vehicle with high-value items taken straight from the property, treating the $60 million estate like his personal pop-up shop.
According to law enforcement sources, the suspect didn’t just grab whatever luxury items he could lay his hands on, he also allegedly tried taking a vehicle belonging to one of Kim’s staffers for a quick joyride before deputies cut his getaway short. Responding law enforcement located the suspect on the property and slapped the handcuffs on him before he could hit the main road.
“Deputies responding to the gated community located the suspect and took him into custody on suspicion of stealing a vehicle and other valuable property from the residence,” officials reported regarding the arrest. The 27-year-old was booked on suspicion of burglary and vehicle theft.
Fortunately for Kim and her kids, nobody was inside the main house when the drama unfolded. The SKIMS mogul and her family have been staying at a rental home nearby while her massive $60 million compound undergoes extensive renovations.
Investigators are still looking into whether any contractors or staff members were anywhere on the grounds during the break-in, and the sheriff’s department hasn’t publicly dropped the suspect’s name just yet as the investigation remains active.
Kim is unfortunately no stranger to security scares and obsessed intruders, recently wrapping up her Paris robber trial. However, having someone try to pull up and clean out a whole estate in broad daylight proves the security teams in Calabasas still need to double down. Whew!
