The woman who went viral last year after calling an 8-year-old Black child with autism a racial slur has been found guilty of disorderly conduct.
According to the Star Tribune, Shiloh Hendrix appeared in court on Tuesday, July 21, where a jury found her guilty following more than nine hours of deliberations. Hendrix was sentenced around 11 p.m. and ordered to pay a $1,000 fine. She was also sentenced to 90 days in jail and ordered to complete 200 hours of community service.
Viral Video Sparked National Attention
The case stems from an April 28, 2025, incident that drew widespread attention after a video circulated across social media. As previously reported, Hendrix was recorded chasing an 8-year-old Black child with autism after the child grabbed a packet of applesauce from her bag. During the encounter, she called the child a racial slur.
A bystander confronted Hendrix during the incident and recorded the exchange before sharing the video online, where it quickly went viral and sparked widespread public criticism.
Fundraiser Raised More Than $800,000
Following the viral incident, Hendrix launched a GiveSendGo fundraising campaign.
According to previous reports, the campaign raised more than $800,000 after receiving donations from supporters.
Tuesday’s verdict concludes the criminal case against Hendrix, resulting in a disorderly conduct conviction, a $1,000 fine, a 90-day jail sentence, and 200 hours of court-ordered community service.
