Monica McNutt is taking a moment to apologize to Taylor Swift after throwing shade on her Knicks fandom during the NBA Finals, admitting she might’ve missed the mark on this one.
TMZ caught up with the Knicks’ lead radio analyst on Thursday, and she addressed the controversial incident from Game 4. As we previously shared, when she spotted Taylor chilling on the celebrity row at Madison Square Garden, she said, “She’s not a Knicks fan. Get out of here, girl.” During her conversation with TMZ, Monica made it clear that she stands by her original take, explaining that she didn’t know Taylor was a Knicks supporter because she’s been covering that celebrity scene all season and hadn’t seen Taylor there at all.

However, Monica has since discovered that Taylor actually owns an old Amar’e Stoudemire Knicks jersey and has realized she was wrong about Taylor’s loyalty to the team.
She also shared some additional reasons why she questioned Taylor’s allegiance and admitted she misspoke. Taylor’s fanbase wasn’t feeling her comments, and Monica knew they would blow up online. But honestly, any worries about backlash got overshadowed by the Knicks’ epic comeback win against the San Antonio Spurs.
