‘Life Goes On’ Singer & Internet Sensation Oliver Tree Dead At 32 After Brazil Helicopter Crash

Socialites, we have some unfortunate news to share: alternative-pop star and TikTok sensation Oliver Tree has passed away. 

The eccentric 32-year-old artist, known globally for his viral hits like “Life Goes On” and “Miss You,” was killed on Sunday morning when two helicopters collided mid-air in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Authorities have confirmed that there were no survivors in the fiery wreck, which claimed a total of six lives.

The horrific incident went down around 9:00 AM local time in the upscale beach community of Recreio dos Bandeirantes. According to local reports, the two choppers clipped each other mid-flight, sending them spiraling out of the sky. One of the aircraft slammed directly into the parking lot of a local car dealership, exploding on impact and triggering a massive fire that destroyed at least 20 electric vehicles. 

Witnesses described a scene of absolute terror as debris rained down on the surrounding neighborhood, with pieces of the aircraft’s tail section landing on top of nearby buildings.

Oliver Tree was in Brazil as part of his massive “World’s First World Tour” promoting his latest album, Love You Madly Hate You Badly. Just days before the crash, he was seen on Instagram vibing with locals, visiting a favela, and rocking a Brazilian soccer jersey. Along with Tree, the crash claimed the lives of Argentine YouTube star Gaspar Prim (famously known as Gaspi), filmmaker Lucas Vignale, Brazilian music producer Lucas Brito Chaves, and the two pilots, Alexandre Souza and Charles Marsillac.

The Rio de Janeiro police and aviation authorities have already launched a full investigation into what caused the two choppers to get so dangerously close. While forensic teams work to officially identify the victims through flight manifests, local officials are pointing toward human error as the preliminary cause. 

Fans are already taking to social media to mourn the loss of an artist who completely rewrote the rules of internet stardom with his signature bowl cut, oversized clothes, and viral stunts.
