Donald Trump Says He’s Not Concerned About The Latest Inflation Numbers: “I Love The Inflation”

“No, I love it. The numbers were great,” Trump responded when questioned about his concerns regarding the latest data, which revealed the consumer price index climbing to 4.2 percent over the past year — with a 0.5 percent jump in May alone, as reported by the Labor Department.

“I love the inflation,” the president continued, pointing out how the U.S. recently pulled millions of barrels of oil and 22 ships from Iran. “That’s why oil is $85 dollars a barrel.” He emphasized that the U.S. had achieved “the best economy we’ve ever hit prior to the Iran war,” but stressed the need to ensure that Iran never obtains a nuclear weapon.

The CPI data also indicated that energy prices soared 3.9 percent in May, following a 3.8 percent rise in April and a significant 10.9 percent increase in March.
