Music legend Clive Davis was hospitalized in New York City this week following a bout with an upper respiratory infection, according to tmz.
At 94 years old, the iconic executive’s medical team decided on inpatient care “out of an abundance of caution” to monitor his recovery. Despite the initial concern, reps for Davis have confirmed that he is in good spirits and is expected to be discharged within the next 48 hours.
The health scare comes shortly after Davis made a high-profile appearance at the Gordon Parks Foundation Awards in Manhattan, where he appeared to be in good health.
This isn’t his first time dealing with a public health hurdle; in 2021, he famously pushed through a diagnosis of Bell’s Palsy that forced a delay of his annual Pre-Grammy Gala.
Clive Davis remains one of the most influential figures in music history, credited with launching the careers of Whitney Houston and Alicia Keys, as well as providing the major label backing for Diddy’s Bad Boy Records. As news of his recovery spreads, industry insiders and fans are relieved to hear the mogul is on the mend and ready to return to his office.
