Whoah! 13-Year-Old Opens About Facing Fatherhood After Getting Girlfriend Pregnant

Whew! Socialites, come get into this wild story… Middle school. Eighth grade. Still asking to use the hall pass. And now… fatherhood.

On the upcoming season of Unexpected, viewers will be introduced to what may be its youngest couple yet, and their journey is unfolding before high school even begins…

Hunter is 13 years old now, but he was just 12 when he found out his life was about to change forever. “I was 12 when I found out I was going to be a dad. Now I’m 13,” he says in a confessional. “I did not think I would be finishing 8th grade and becoming a dad at the same time.”

Because that’s a sentence you don’t hear every day. Most kids his age are worried about math quizzes and who they’re sitting next to at lunch. Hunter is preparing for late nights, diapers, and responsibility that doesn’t come with a study guide.

Meanwhile, his girlfriend Bella, 15, is also adjusting to a reality she didn’t see coming.

“I didn’t think at 15 I would be pregnant,” she says. “I didn’t think with a 13-year-old either.”

Bella says she knew almost immediately that something wasn’t right when her period was late. That quiet suspicion quickly became confirmation.

“We could have waited a little bit longer, I guess. But it was his idea,” she explains, adding that “the condom broke.” And just like that, childhood and adulthood collided.

This season won’t just spotlight Hunter and Bella. Viewers will also meet Isabella and Bryce, both 18, along with 16-year-old couples Amya and Jose, and Mia and Jessie… all navigating young parenthood in their own ways. But it’s the eighth-grader preparing for fatherhood that’s already sparking the loudest conversations.

Season 7 of Unexpected premieres Monday, February 16 on TLC. If the trailer is any indication, this season is coming with real emotions, real consequences, and real-life lessons about how fast everything can change.
