San Francisco 49ers Player Keion White Shot In The Ankle After Alleged Argument With Lil Baby

San Francisco 49ers defensive lineman Keion White underwent surgery after being shot in the ankle early Monday morning following a post-Super Bowl event in San Francisco.

According to the San Francisco Police Department, officers responded to reports of a shooting around 4 a.m. on the 1700 block of Mission Street. The incident occurred just hours after the city concluded hosting Super Bowl festivities.

ABC7 Eyewitness News’ partners at the San Francisco Standard reported that White was hosting a gathering at Dahlia’s, a local bar and nightclub, when an argument allegedly took place involving rapper Lil Baby. Shortly after the disagreement, White was shot in the ankle. In a statement, SFPD said that “the victim was injured when shots were fired by an unknown suspect.” Authorities have not confirmed the identity of the shooter, and no arrests have been made at this time.

White was transported to a local hospital, where he later underwent surgery. The San Francisco 49ers confirmed Monday afternoon that the procedure was successful and that the injury is not considered career-threatening.

49ers Confirm Surgery And Recovery Status

The San Francisco 49ers released a statement confirming that Keion White had successful surgery following the shooting.

The team stated that White’s injuries are not believed to be career-threatening and added that they “will provide further updates when appropriate.” No additional medical details were disclosed.
White, who joined the 49ers defensive line as a key rotational player, has not yet made a public statement regarding the incident. However, earlier on Monday morning, he shared a photo on social media showing himself in the stands at the Super Bowl prior to the shooting.

The organization has not commented on the reported argument or any individuals who may have been present at the gathering.

City Officials Respond Following Shooting

The incident prompted a response from San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie, who addressed the situation publicly on X.

“Any violent incident in our city is unacceptable, and I’m hoping Keion recovers quickly. I’ve spoken with SFPD and 49ers leadership—we are all grateful to our SFPD officers for their quick response. As always, I will continue working with San Francisco law enforcement to ensure our neighborhoods and our residents are safe.”

City officials noted that the shooting took place during a weekend that saw an increased law enforcement presence due to Super Bowl events. Police confirmed that the investigation remains active.

SFPD Investigation Ongoing With No Arrests

As of Monday afternoon, the San Francisco Police Department confirmed that no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting.

Investigators have not released a suspect description or additional details regarding the events leading up to the incident. Police continue to interview witnesses and review surveillance footage from the area.
