Vice President JD Vance remains publicly impressed with Nicki Minaj, continuing to praise her both onstage and online following her recent political appearance.
As previously reported, the controversial rapper made a surprise appearance on the fourth day of AmericaFest, hosted by Turning Point USA in Phoenix. While Minaj touched on several topics during her time on stage, one particular comment clearly resonated with Vance.
Taking to X on Monday morning, Vance wrote, “Nicki Minaj said something at Amfest that was really profound. I’m paraphrasing, but she said, ‘just because I want little black girls to think they’re beautiful doesn’t mean I need to put down little girls with blonde hair and blue eyes.’”
He continued, “We all got wrapped up over the last few years in zero sum thinking. This was because the people who think they rule the world pit us against one another. ‘Nicki Minaj rejects that. We all should.’”
During her appearance, Minaj also offered praise for both the president and vice president while addressing the crowd.
“This administration is full of people with heart and soul, and they make me proud of them. Our vice president, he makes me … well, I love both of them,” Minaj said. “Both of them have a very uncanny ability to be someone that you relate to.”
She went on to describe both men as strong role models.
While some observers remain surprised by Minaj’s appearance at the conservative conference, others see it as consistent with her recent public statements. Over the past several weeks, the rapper has been increasingly vocal about her political views and support for Republicans.
Just last week, Minaj took aim at California Governor Gavin Newsom, giving him the nickname “Newscum” while again voicing support for JD Vance.
So why now?<:h2>
According to Minaj, she’s grown tired of being “pushed around.” She has also said that expressing different ideas has become controversial because “people are no longer using their minds.”
Whether praised or criticized, one thing is clear: Nicki Minaj is saying exactly what she wants, and JD Vance is more than happy to applaud it.
