An update has been confirmed in the tragic deaths of legendary filmmaker and actor Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner. As previously reported, theirt son, Nick Reiner, was taken in for questioning following the discovery of their bodies. Authorities have now confirmed that Nick Reiner has officially been arrested.
According to jail records, Nick Reiner was booked into an LAPD jail as of Monday morning and is currently being held on $4 million bail.

As first reported, Rob Reiner, 78, and Michele Singer Reiner, 68, were found dead inside their Los Angeles home. What made the case even heavier was the immediate indication that the suspect was someone close to them, a family member.
According to details shared with PEOPLE, the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a call for medical assistance on Sunday, Dec. 14, at approximately 3:30 p.m. When first responders arrived at the residence, they discovered a 78-year-old man and a 68-year-old woman deceased. Sources later confirmed the victims were Rob and Michele Reiner.
TMZ reported that both victims were found with slit throats. At the time of the initial reports, authorities stated that the couple’s son, Nick Reiner, had been taken in for questioning and that no arrests had yet been made. That status has now changed with Nick’s formal arrest.
Nick Reiner, 32, has previously spoken publicly about his struggles with drug addiction and periods of homelessness, openly sharing details of his personal battles in past years.
