Cops say the suspect, Andrew James McGann, 28, of Springdale, admitted to running up on a couple and stabbing them to death on a walking trail at Devil’s Den State Park over the weekend. And get this… it was reportedly “completely random.” No beef. No drama. Just straight violence outta nowhere.

The victims? Clinton David Brink, 43, and his wife Cristen Amanda Brink, 41. The married couple was out hiking with their two daughters when they were attacked. The mom was reportedly able to get the girls—ages 7 and 9—to safety before going back to help her husband.

“We believe that the mother took them to safety, and then returned to help her husband,” said Maj. Stacie Rhoads with the Arkansas State Police during a press briefing on Thursday.

He Got a Haircut After the Killings Like It Was Nothing

While the whole state was in panic mode trying to find out who could do something this heartless… McGann was out here sitting in a barber chair. Yeah, he was getting a fresh cut while cops were closing in…

The manhunt lasted a few days before police found him at a barbershop in Springdale, just 30 miles from the murder scene. He was calm, cool, and collected like he didn’t just destroy a whole family’s life.

“We have no reason to believe that there was any known association between our suspect and our victims,” said Col. Mike Hagar, head of the Arkansas State Police. “It appears to be a completely random event.”

McGann reportedly confessed right after being arrested. No hesitation. No motive explained. Just cold-blooded violence.

What Will Happen To The Kids?

Thankfully, the kids weren’t physically harmed during the incident. But emotionally? That trauma’s gonna take a lifetime to heal. Right now, the girls are reportedly safe and in the custody of family members.

“One of the worst experiences that certainly I’ve ever had was making a phone call to the Brink family earlier this week. Nothing like that should ever have taken place,” said Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

More On Suspect McGann

McGann is now sitting behind bars with no bond and facing two capital murder charges. Cops say there’s no known connection between him and the Brinks. He didn’t know them. Didn’t target them. Just snapped.

He is currently being held without bond.
