When entertainment news breaks, sites like Variety and The Hollywood Reporter cover it.
That’s technically true, but look closer.
These sites are selective in their reportage. Anything that attacks President Trump, inside Hollywood or out, gets a speedy news story. Maybe a few stories.
News that doesn’t align with its liberal world view? Nothing to see here. Move along. Or, the sites drag their feet over their coverage. In our digital age, days can feel like weeks.
This explains why these outlets ignore or downplay Jewish artists getting silenced for their faith. Wrong narrative. Sorry, artists, you’ll have to look elsewhere for aggressive free speech coverage.
Following on from news my & Aaron Levene’s long running compilation show, Jew-O-Rama, was being cancelled by Whistlebinkies due to concerns over “staff safety”, yesterday I learnt that my solo show, Shall I Compere Thee in a Funny Way? was being dropped by Banshee Labyrinth.

Yet both far-Left outlets pounced and seized on Vice President J.D. Vance mocking the Left’s unhinged reaction to a jeans commercial.
Hmmm.
Sydney Sweeney (“Anyone But You”) appears in a new American Eagle ad campaign that emphasizes her beauty and a silly play on words. She’s hawking jeans while suggesting she won the gene pool lottery.
Hard to argue with that.

A gaggle of progressive influencers, and even MSNBC, savaged the ads as promoting White Supremacy.
Vance addressed the issue this morning on the “Ruthless” podcast, now part of the Fox News media empire. The episode dropped mere hours ago, and both Variety and THR had stories about it in short order.
“My political advice to the Democrats is continue to tell everybody who thinks Sydney Sweeney is attractive is a Nazi … That appears to be their actual strategy.
“I mean, it actually reveals something pretty interesting about the Dems, though, which is that you have, like, a normal all-American beautiful girl doing like a normal jeans ad, right? They’re trying to sell, you know, sell jeans to kids in America and they have managed to so unhinge themselves over this thing. And it’s like, you guys, did you learn nothing from the November 2024 election?”

Why would these sites cover the blowback so aggressively, especially when Vance is targeting the woke Left?
It’s simple. Even these outlets realize how batty the Left has become on this issue. It also explains why Stephen Colbert oh, so gently mocked the Left, too.
It’s crazy to interpret the Sweeney ads as anything remotely related to pro-White, Nazi-style propaganda. And even Colbert realizes it.
“I don’t want to alarm you, but the internet is mad about something…This time, it’s a commercial from American Eagle Outfitters starring Sydney Sweeney, take a look.” Colbert played the clip. “Just like Sydney Sweeney, I also carry the gene for sexy commercial scratchy voice. I get it from my uncle on my mother’s side … Now, some people look at this and they’re seeing something sinister, saying that the genes-jeans denim wordplay in an ad featuring a white blond woman means American Eagle could be promoting eugenics, white supremacy and Nazi propaganda. That might be a bit of an overreaction — although Hitler did briefly model for Mein Kampfort Fit Jeans.”
The only far-Left outlet not to get the message? “The Daily Show.” Host Desi Lydic used the story to bash conservatives, who rightly mocked the Left-leaning outrage.
