O.J. Simpson’s longtime attorney just dropped some tea — and it’s piping hot. Malcolm LaVergne, the man managing O.J.’s estate, is calling out Donald Trump for what he believes is a bold distraction tactic tied to the ongoing controversy surrounding Jeffrey Epstein.
In a statement to TMZ, LaVergne said Trump’s recent meme — which features Barack Obama photoshopped into O.J. Simpson’s infamous 1994 Bronco chase — is a calculated attempt to shift the conversation away from Epstein’s scandal.
According to LaVergne, “Trump is a marketing genius. He knows how to throw shiny objects out there to deflect from other things. And this meme — it’s straight-up candy from his playbook.”
Trump’s Meme Throws Obama Into The O.J. Simpson Chase Scene — But Why?
Over the weekend, Trump shared a meme that threw social media into a frenzy. The image was a photoshopped version of O.J. Simpson’s iconic 1994 police chase on the 405 Freeway. But instead of A.C. Cowlings behind the wheel of that white Bronco, it was Barack Obama — casually inserted as the driver while Trump and his running mate J.D. Vance followed behind in police cruisers.
Wild, right?
LaVergne says this wasn’t random at all. He believes Trump deliberately used Obama because the former president is known for staying silent when drama pops off. “Obama doesn’t usually clap back,” LaVergne said. “He stays cool and collected, so Trump knows he won’t fire back — it makes the distraction more effective.”
This comes as Trump’s name has once again been tied to Epstein in online speculation. LaVergne says it’s all about flipping the narrative.
LaVergne Thinks O.J. Would’ve Just Laughed It Off
When asked how O.J. would’ve felt about being part of this meme circus, LaVergne said with confidence — he’d probably laugh.
Let’s not forget — The Juice knew how to ride the wave of fame. “O.J. thrived on pop culture buzz,” LaVergne said. “I don’t think he’d be mad. He probably would’ve found it funny.”
While O.J. Simpson can’t speak for himself now, LaVergne said the man behind the myth would’ve just leaned into it. “He always knew how to use media attention to his advantage. That was his superpower.”
Trump’s Meme Strategy Is All Smoke, No Fire?
This isn’t Trump’s first rodeo when it comes to memes, mockery, or media tactics. But LaVergne’s take adds weight to the idea that Trump knows exactly what he’s doing — using pop culture to manipulate headlines. And now, O.J. Simpson and Barack Obama are both unwilling characters in his latest act.
