Chris Brown Faces Court Again—Pleads Not Guilty To New Assault Charges In London

R&B superstar Chris Brown returned to Southwark Crown Court in London and plead not guilty to more assault charges stemming from an alleged bottle attack on a music producer at a London nightclub. The 36-year-old continues to maintain his innocence as his legal fight heads toward a high-profile trial in October 2026.

According to prosecutors, Chris is accused of causing actual bodily harm and possessing an offensive weapon—a tequila bottle—during what they’re calling an “unprovoked” incident at Tape nightclub in Soho back on February 19, 2023. That’s in addition to a previously filed, more serious charge of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm, which he also denies.

“We Love You Chris”: Supporters Show Up As Breezy Enters Court

It was reported that Chris showed up looking calm but focused, offering a quick wave and putting his hand over his chest as he walked in. About 20 die-hard fans showed up to support him, holding space in the public gallery and shouting, “We love you, Chris!” as he exited the courtroom.

Breezy’s been staying in the UK while awaiting trial, per court order. He had to surrender his passport to authorities but can temporarily get it back to travel for tour dates—under tight conditions. That man dropped a cool £5 million as a security fee to stay out on bail. And yes, the court made it clear—if he violates any conditions, he risks losing all that money.

Breaking Down The Allegations: What Happened At The Club?

So here’s what went down—allegedly. Prosecutors claim the victim, music producer Abraham Diaw, was chilling by the bar when Chris “struck him several times with a bottle” outta nowhere. The attack reportedly took place at Tape, a known hotspot in the London nightlife scene.

Chris had returned to the UK in May to prep for his European tour. That’s when authorities arrested him at the Lowry Hotel in Salford. He was held for almost a week before coming up with that hefty bail bond. And that wasn’t just a slap on the wrist—the bail conditions are strict.

Chris must remain in the UK and stay at a specified address until his trial, unless traveling for work.

Tour Life Don’t Stop: Breezy Bowl XX Keeps Rolling

Despite the legal cloud, Breezy’s been on the road doing what he does best—performing. He just wrapped up the European leg of his Breezy Bowl XX tour in Paris. Now he’s headed back stateside to kick off the North American stretch this month, with the final show scheduled for October 18—just days before his next court hearing on October 24.
