A video shows the heart-stopping moment when 44-year-old Yesenia “Jessica” Torres was gunned down in broad daylight in a San Bernardino parking lot. Initially suspected to be a robbery gone wrong, authorities now say it was something even more sinister—a cold-blooded murder-for-hire plot orchestrated by her own husband.
According to ABC News, the San Bernardino Police Department held a press conference Tuesday confirming that Torres’ estranged husband, Sergio Reveles, 53, allegedly hired four men to kill her. The murder stemmed from what authorities described as a “contentious divorce.”
The Murder-for-Hire Plot Unraveled
San Bernardino Detective Dominick Martinez laid it out bluntly:
“Definitely a murder-for-hire case. There is evidence to show that the suspects did stalk our victim for several days and months prior to this murder.”
Chilling security footage shows Torres leaving a restaurant and getting into her G-Wagon. Moments later, a small SUV pulls up, and 31-year-old Gerardo Llamas jumps out, gun in hand. In sheer terror, Torres runs around the car, trying to escape. A Good Samaritan attempts to intervene, but before they can reach her—gunshots ring out.
“Chasing her around the vehicle, firing multiple times at her. Unfortunately, she was struck, slowed her down, and the suspect again shot her an additional time with a fatal wound,” Martinez explained.
Who Was Involved? The Suspects and Their Roles
Authorities have arrested five people in connection to the murder-for-hire case, including Reveles himself:
— Gerardo Llamas, 31 – The triggerman who shot Torres.
— Arnoldo Ruelas, 54, & Reynaldo Ruelas, 37 – Brothers believed to have helped stalk Torres and coordinate the hit.
— Juan Perez, 42 – Allegedly helped facilitate the murder plot.
— Sergio Reveles, 53 – The mastermind behind his wife’s brutal execution.
All five men have been charged and are scheduled to appear in court on March 14
