President-Elect Donald Trump promised he’ll be a dictator on Day One of his second term.
So said Whoopi Goldberg, the ringleader at ABC’s “The View.” (And she wasn’t alone in media circles…)
Except the “dictator” reference was said in gest, letting Trump share his second term’s main focus – energy production and closing the porous southern border.
Watch for yourself.
Yet Goldberg repeated the claim on “The View” along with other outlandish proclamations. The craziest? She said President Trump would rip interracial marriages apart once he’s back in power.
Like Vice President-Elect J.D. Vance and his lovely bride, Usha?

That was then.
Now, Goldberg is sounding a very different note on “The View.” In this clip, Goldberg tries to calm her excitable co-hosts who fear President-Elect Trump is literally Hitler.
Or worse.

Goldberg is the voice of reason in the snippet. She even suggests her colleagues’ rhetoric will blow back on “The View, eroding its credibility.
Now, that’s funny. It’s still serious, in a way.
Goldberg may have been told by her producers to cut back on her unhinged rhetoric for the show’s sake. How many legal notes can Sunny Hostin and co. read before a Trump appointee lawyers up?
Or, Goldberg realizes a second Trump term, whether its successful or dispiriting, won’t feature the outrageous actions her and the “View” hosts have predicted for months.
Someone, be it Goldberg or an ABC executive, realize “The View” has gone too far.
