Fans, friends, and family members are grappling with the recent arrest of Lil Durk. While many await his day in court, his family is voicing their support.
A new post was shared on the Instagram account of his son, Zayden Banks, where he takes a moment to stand up for his dad. The post read, “I want to take a moment to stand up for my dad, Durk Banks. He has always dedicated his life to uplifting others and giving back to our community through his nonprofit organization, Neighborhood Heroes. Beyond that, he is a great father who has always supported and loved our family unconditionally.”
The message continued, “Right now, he is facing challenges, but I want to affirm that he has not been convicted of any charges and remains innocent until proven otherwise. During this difficult time, I ask for your support for him and all the good he continues to do. I would also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the mayor for standing with my dad. His speech was well said and truly reflects the community’s support for those who strive to make a positive impact. Thank you, everyone!”

More On Lil Durk’s Arrest:
As previously reported, the Chicago rapper was arrested in Florida earlier this month by U.S. Marshals and is facing a charge of murder for hire. The 32-year-old artist, whose legal name is Durk Devontay Banks, was booked into the Broward County jail and is currently being held without bail.
His arrest follows that of five other individuals associated with Banks’ hip-hop group, OTF (Only The Family), who were arrested and charged in Chicago in connection with a 2022 shooting that resulted in the death of the cousin of rival rapper Quando Rondo. Banks is alleged to be the leader of a group involved in violent crimes, including murder and assault, at his direction, according to a federal criminal complaint filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
Prosecutors are working to establish that Durk and his five alleged associates targeted rapper Quando Rondo due to his suspected involvement in the killing of Chicago rapper King Von in 2020.
According to the Department of Justice, arraignments for Banks and the five other defendants are anticipated to take place in a Los Angeles federal court in the coming weeks. If convicted, they could face a statutory maximum sentence of life in federal prison, as indicated by prosecutors.
