Kanye West, who also goes by the name YE’, has announced that he is retiring from his music career.
Rapper, Rich The Kid shared some text messages between him and Kanye which Ye says says, “I am retiring from professional music..Not sure what else to do.”
Earlier, we mentioned that Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign have reached a settlement with Donna Summer’s estate regarding a lawsuit. The legal dispute arose from their unauthorized use of her famous song “I Feel Love,” which was sampled in their track “Good (Don’t Die)” from the album Vultures 1.
Donna Summer’s estate released a statement regarding the unauthorized use of her song, “I Feel Love,” by Kanye West. They mentioned that West had requested permission to use the song but was denied. Despite this, he altered the words, had someone else sing it, or used artificial intelligence to replicate it, leading to allegations of copyright infringement.

In addition to this, Kanye West encountered another legal problem related to Vultures 1. Ozzy Osbourne criticized West for sampling Black Sabbath’s “Iron Man” without obtaining permission. Osbourne expressed his disapproval in an Instagram post.
“@KANYEWEST ASKED PERMISSION TO SAMPLE A SECTION OF A 1983 LIVE PERFORMANCE OF “IRON MAN” FROM THE US FESTIVAL WITHOUT VOCALS & WAS REFUSED PERMISSION BECAUSE HE IS AN ANTISEMITE AND HAS CAUSED UNTOLD HEARTACHE TO MANY. HE WENT AHEAD AND USED THE SAMPLE ANYWAY AT HIS ALBUM LISTENING PARTY LAST NIGHT. I WANT NO ASSOCIATION WITH THIS MAN.”
It’s not clear why Kanye wants to step away from the music industry at this time, but we’ll keep you updated as this story develops.
