Sean Kingston Booked Into Broward Jail On Fraud, Grand Theft Charges

Welp, another day, another legal problem for Sean Kingston. The singer has been taken into custody and is currently being held at the Broward County Jail where he faces charges of grand theft and an organized scheme to defraud.

Kingston voluntarily returned to Florida without contesting extradition from California following his arrest on a warrant issued by the Broward Sheriff’s Office. He was transported to Broward County on Sunday as per BSO’s statement.

As previously reported, the legal trouble for the singer began with a raid on his rented home in Southwest Ranches last month. Law enforcement agents seized various items during the raid, including a Cadillac Escalade. Kingston and his mother, Janice Turner, was also accused of stealing jewelry, money, and furniture. A significant allegation against them involves the failure to pay for a $150,000 entertainment system.

Sean Kingston — a Jamaican-American singer and songwriter is known for songs like “Beautiful Girls” and “Fire Burning.” He has faced legal issues in the past, including a lawsuit in 2017 for allegedly failing to pay for a luxury watch and a diamond bracelet. Additionally, he has had legal troubles related to assault charges and unpaid jewelry bills.

Kingston is now facing multiple charges over his latest incident, including organized scheme to defraud over $50,000, criminal use of personal identification information over $50,000, grand theft between $20,000 and $100,000, fraud for issuing insufficient funds checks over $150, grand theft over $100,000, and probation violation. The total bond amount for all the charges is set at $100,000.

To make matters worse, in February, Kingston was hit with a lawsuit by a company for non-payment of merchandise.
