More details have come forth about the latest incident involving singer Sean Kingston.

As we previously reported, Kingston, whose real name is Kisean Anderson, had his Florida home raided by officials on Thursday. At the time, it was only reported that Kingston’s mother, Janice Turner, was arrested on fraud charges following a raid at his residence in Southwest Ranches, Florida.

However, according to updated reports, the artist was also arrested but in California following the SWAT raid that occurred at his rented mansion. Law enforcement confirmed the arrest, stating that Kingston was taken into custody “without incident.” Authorities said Kingston was apprehended in Fort Irwin, California, and is facing numerous fraud and theft charges. The specific details of the charges have not been disclosed, but investigators have assured that they will be booking Kingston into a San Bernadino jail.

The Background:

WSVN previously reported that Kingston’s home was raided over his alleged involvement in a scam. It was said that the raid was conducted in response to allegations that Kingston had not paid for a substantial entertainment system worth $150,000.

Dennis Card, who is an attorney representing the company that filed a lawsuit against Kingston in February, stated that Kingston has a repetitive pattern of enticing people with his celebrity status and convincing them to release items without providing payment.

“He is stealing the property itself. He has a standardized script that he gives people, which is that he’s a recording artist, that he certainly is, and that he wants to purchase these things, but he never pays for anything. He gets the stuff and that’s the end of the story. He does it over and over and over.”

More From Sean Kingston:

Interestingly enough, earlier that Thursday, Kingston had posted a message to his fans on Instagram. It read, “People love negative energy! I am good, and so is my mother! … My lawyers are handling everything as we speak.” The post has since been deleted.

Robert Rosenblatt, an attorney representing the singer and his mother, said to the news outlet, “We are aware of some of the allegations. We look forward to addressing these in court and are confident of a successful resolution for Shawn and his mother.”

Sean Kingston rose to fame with his hit songs such as “Beautiful Girls” and “Fire Burning.” Over the years, he’s been marred by legal issues and financial troubles.
