Chance The Rapper’s wife, Kirsten Corley, took to Instagram on Wednesday morning to announce the end of their five-year marriage. In an unexpected Instagram post, she shared that after some time apart, they have mutually decided to go their separate ways.
“After a period of separation, the two of us have arrived at the decision to part ways. We came to this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together. God has blessed us with two beautiful daughters who we will continue to raise together. We kindly ask for privacy and respect as we navigate this transition. Thank you -Chance & Kirsten.”
This news comes months after the viral incident involving Chance dancing with another woman, which sparked speculation about the state of their relationship. Prior to this announcement, Kirsten had shared a cryptic message on her Instagram reflecting on the challenges of growing up and the reality that many people simply age without truly maturing.

She reposted a quote by Maya Angelou that read at the time:
“Most people don’t grow up. It’s too damn difficult. What happens is most people get older. That’s the truth of it. They honor their credit cards, they find parking spaces, they have the nerve to have children, but they don’t grow up. Not really. They get older.”
Chance The Rapper and Kirsten Corley tied the knot in a legal ceremony in 2018, followed by a lavish wedding celebration in 2019. The couple, who have known each other since 2003, are parents to two daughters, Kensli and Marli.
As of now, Chance has not publicly commented on the breakup, and the couple has requested privacy and respect during this transitional period.
