LSU superstar, Angel Reese has announced that she’s going pro and will enter the 2024 WNBA draft.
In an exclusive interview with @vogue that was released Wednesday morning, Reese revealed the shocking news. Many fans wanted Reese to stay at LSU for one more year, but in her new interview she said that she believes she’s ready to take on this new challenge.
“I’ve done everything I wanted to in college,” Reese explained to Vogue: “I’ve won a national championship, I’ve gotten [Southeastern Conference] Player of the Year, I’ve been an All-American. My ultimate goal is to be a pro—and to be one of the greatest basketball players to play, ever. I feel like I’m ready.”
Reese, a native of Baltimore, Maryland, began playing basketball at a young age and quickly showed promise as a standout player. As she progressed through middle school and high school, her skills continued to develop, and she quickly caught the attention of college scouts.
Standing at 6’3″ tall, Reese is a versatile player who can excel at multiple positions on the court. She has a strong presence in the paint, with the ability to score inside and grab rebounds with ease. Additionally, she has a smooth shooting touch from mid-range and beyond the arc, making her a threat from anywhere on the court.
In addition to her physical gifts, Reese is known for her high basketball IQ and leadership qualities. She is a vocal presence on the court, always communicating with her teammates and helping to set the tone for her team. Her competitive spirit and passion for the game are evident in her play, as she always gives her all on both ends of the court.

In her senior year of high school, Reese was named a McDonald’s All-American, an honor reserved for the top high school players in the country. She also led her team to a state championship, further solidifying her status as a standout player.
Reese shocked the world when she led the lady Tigers to winning a national championship title last year. She and her team fought to make it back to the big stage again this year, but unfortunately they came up short with a loss to Iowa’s Caitlyn Clark.
