Jhene Aiko is reportedly being sued by a woman who claims the singer allegedly rear-ended her and now the individual is allegedly suffering injuries since the incident.
The alleged car accident reportedly took place back in July of 2022 and according to court documents obtained by The Blast, Aiko is being accused of negligence for the incident. Genelle Ligot, the woman who is suing the singer detailed what allegedly happened on the day of the car accident. Ligot claims that in July 2022, at the corner of Ventura Boulevard and Hayvenhurst Avenue in Encino, California, Aiko “struck her” vehicle from behind while waiting at a traffic light, according to the news outlet.
“Ligot was stopped at a traffic light when [Aiko] struck [her] from behind. Due to the negligent actions of [Aiko] while operating the motor vehicle, [Ligot] was injured in health, strength, and activity,” the court documents read. Since the alleged incident, Ligot says she has suffered “wage loss, loss of use of property, hospital and medical expenses, general damage, property damage and loss of earning capacity.” Now, she is taking Jhene to court for damages and is also demanding a jury trial, alleging that Aiko acted negligently and caused her injuries.
This new information comes after it was reported that Jhene Aiko and her partner Big Sean were granted a five-year restraining order against a fan who broke into their home.
Since the restraining order was put in place the fan is ordered to stay 100 yards away from Jhene and Big Sean.
The couple first met in 2012 when they collaborated on the song “Beware,” which appeared on Big Sean’s album “Hall of Fame.” The chemistry between the two was undeniable, and they quickly became close friends. However, it wasn’t until 2016 that they officially confirmed their romantic relationship, and since then, they have been inseparable.
