Oop! Dave Chappelle is breaking his silence on Katt Williams‘ viral interview with Shannon Sharpe on his ‘Club Shay Shay‘ podcast. However, Chappelle isn’t laughing with the rest of us, instead, he’s slamming Williams and noting, “He only ethered Black men. He didn’t say anything about these white boys.”

As we’ve previously shared, comedian and actor Katt Williams broke the internet when his interview on ‘Club Shay Shay‘ dropped on January 3. In the viral sit-down, Williams came for all of his peers, including, but not limited to: Steve Harvey, Cedric The Entertainer, Chris Tucker, Kevin Hart, Rickey SmileyMichael BlacksonFaizon Love, Tiffany Haddish, etc.

Williams’ comments were completely critical and the roasting of his fellow Black comedians didn’t stop there, he also took a moment to call out and roast rapper and actor Ludacris, which spawned a freestyle diss from Luda, and even one from Williams in response.

While most of social media laughed themselves out of their seats, revered comedian Dave Chappelle is sharing different sentiments about the viral interview. As he performed a stand-up set at the San Jose Improv on Friday evening (January 19), Chappelle shared his disappointment with Williams, highlighting the fact that this Black comic only roasted his fellow Black men in comedy.

In one clip from his set going viral, Chappelle began by joking, “I don’t know where Katt is, but that n***a is waiting. Katt is going to kill us all! I love everybody. I love Katt Williams, and that n***a is wild! I’m at war with the Illuminati too, but what part of the war is ethering Cedric The Entertainer? Cedric, that dude. He’s old. He’s fat. Leave this n***a alone. And Steve Harvey doesn’t even do this anymore.”

Chappelle admitted that unlike other people’s opinion, including comedian DeRay Davis who was at the show, “What Katt did was not good for comedy.” Davis told Williams and the crowd that everybody was bored and Williams made things competitive again and had everybody talking.

In another clip from his stand-up set, Dave Chappelle continued to slam Williams for roasting other Black men. He said, “Now what part of the game is this? He only ethered n***as. He didn’t say anything about any of these white boys. None of these white boys function like that. Katt is one of the best players in the game. So, why he drawing all ugly pictures of us? Stop. And hurt people hurt people. But I am a hurt person that never hurt people. And he does it all the time. ‘F**k this one and f**k that one and f**k this one.’ But, n***a, I didn’t hear anything that you did wrong. He didn’t do nothing wrong? Katt didn’t do nothing wrong?”

Chappelle continued, “Katt was talking about sh*t that n***as did to other n***as. But, not about anything that n***as did to him. If I told my story it would break your heart. I lost everything and never ever told on anybody. And this n***a is the arbiter of truth, Katt. Listen, I f**k with Katt, hard. But, what part of the game f**ks up another n***a’s paper? What part of the game is about telling on another n***a? Tiffany Haddish is lifting something heavy and as clumsy as she is… I don’t disagree with Katt, he be telling the real sh*t… but why would you say that? Because all of us are trying to be in a better situation. Can we get over it?”
