As we found out yesterday (Wednesday October 18th) Dj Envy’s alleged business partner Cesar Pina was arrested on federal charges for running a real estate fraud scheme.
Now according to NBC, Envy has been accused by dozens of victims of being an accomplice in a Ponzi scheme authorities claim was orchestrated by the arrested Cesar Pina and his wife Jennifer. The Pinas are being accused of running a fraudulent real estate company and stealing money from investors after promising the funds would be used to fix up multiple real estate ventures across New Jersey. The money that the Pinas received allegedly never went into those investments.
Envy, whose real name is RaaShaun Casey is being brought into this whole situation because many of the victims claim they only knew about Cesar because Dj Envy introduced him to them and also brought him onto his major platform, The Breakfast Club to explain the real estate business that they had going on. Dj Envy is the co founder of, “Flipping NJ,” the name of their company.
A few weeks ago Envy took the time to address the rumors that were circulating on social media and said his lawyers told him not to speak on it but he wanted to make some things clear.
On “The Breakfast Club,” Envy said he did the seminars with Pina because he wanted to “uplift” his community by teaching others about generational wealth and how to buy homes online.
“I did these seminars and brought industry professionals to all these seminars,” he admitted. “Now Cesar, if he took money, I wasn’t privy to it, nor did I even know. But I do understand how people feel if they did give him money.”
Now after Cesar’s arrest clips are surfacing on social media of Dj Envy explaining that he wanted Joe Budden to invest into their real estate business and Joe Budden’s response is quite shocking.
“When I first got into real estate I called three people,” Dj Envy said. “I called Clue, I called Fabolous, and I called Joe Budden. I said hey guys I’m doing real estate this is something that I think you should invest a little money and try it out and that way you can do it. Joe Budden told me it was a Ponzi scheme and I would go to jail.”
#Socialites how do you think this whole situation will play out?
