Whew! Erica Mena will be having some free time on her hands as the Love & Hip-Hop franchise announced that she will NOT appear on the next season.
The big decision came just days after the latest episode premiered and showed the moment Mena called co-star Spice a “monkey” during a heated argument. Of course, in the world of cancel culture, Mena instantly faced backlash for her ignorant remarks.
Love and Hip-Hop said in a Saturday statement: “The Love & Hip Hop franchise has never shied away from hard conversations in our community. Working hand-in-hand with our partners, viewers will see the impact of Erica Mena’s remarks play out in the final three episodes of the season. Effective immediately, she will not appear in the next season of Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta.”

Recapping The Viral Moment
During a sit-down dinner, Mena and Spice got into an intense conversation about her ex Safaree who expressed a lot of emotion for Spice who had a near-death experience. Mena felt bothered that Safaree felt so strongly about another woman instead of her — the mother of her two kids.
At some point during their conversation, Spice claimed that Mena’s oldest son doesn’t like his own mother. In response, Mena angrily flipped a table on the Jamaican artist, and even wished her death. While doing that, she called her a racial slur.
“That bi**h should’ve died!” Mena said while referring to Spice’s health scare last year. Spice then yelled, “Your son hates you, bi**h!,” to which Mena replied, “You monkey, you f**king blue monkey!”
Spice took to her Instagram to address her remark about Mena’s son. She also posted an old clip from another episode to try and prove her point about Mena’s history of reckless behavior.
“Kids are off limits right??????? But I guess it’s only when I ask cause where’s the same energy when Scrappy and Stevie J talked about it,” Spice wrote, showing two separate arguments involving Mena, Lil Scrappy, and Stevie J. “But now I’m a Monkey and should have died on the table? Ok, Erica.”
The clip sparked calls for Mena to be kicked off the show as the 35-year-old did not address her comments… even up until now.
Meanwhile, producer Mona Scott-Young has also reacted to the news. She made a post that read, “handled.”
