On the heels of Ime Udoka’s infidelity scandal, his ex-fiancée Nia Long is reportedly seeking full legal and physical custody of their 11-year-old son.
The new legal case, filed by celebrity attorney Samantha Spector, states that it’s a petition to “determine a parental relationship” since the former couple was never married. Not only is the well-respected actress looking for a Los Angeles County Court to order sole physical and legal custody of her child, Kez, but give Udoka visitation. She is also reportedly asking for all attorney fees for the case to be paid by Udoka, The Blast reports citing court documents.
As we previously reported, the former leader of the Boston Celtics was suspended for the 2022-23 season by the team due to an inappropriate relationship between him and a team employee. It didn’t take long before Long and Udoka’s relationship started to go left, and they eventually called it quits after 13 years together.
Following news of the big scandal, Udoka spoke out to share how much he is filled with remorse over his actions. He also apologized to his family.
“I want to apologize to our players, fans, the entire Celtics organization, and my family for letting them down,” he said in a statement shared by ESPN’s NBA Today host Malika Andrews. “I am sorry for putting the team in this difficult situation, and I accept the team’s decision. Out of respect for everyone involved, I will have no further comment.”
This all came as a shock to fans when they saw her making headlines for something else other than her great talents. However, the unproblematic star eventually addressed the controversy and expressed how she was disappointed in how the Celtics aired out their personal business. Long was reportedly “blindsided” by the affair and Udoka only told her about the cheating days before he knew the news would become public.
“I think the most heartbreaking thing about all of this was seeing my son’s face when the Boston Celtics organization decided to make a very private situation public,” she told The Hollywood Reporter last December. She continued, “No one from the Celtics organization has even called to see if I’m OK, to see if my children are OK,” the “Boyz n the Hood” star continued. “It’s very disappointing.”
The Houston Rockets coach has not yet publicly reacted to the news of her filing. Until then, let us know your thoughts on this in the comment box below!
