Lil Durk is calling cap after several people stormed to social media last night claiming there was an active shooter at his Chicago concert last night. The rapper called out the false reports and said, “Don’t believe the hype.”

While in his hometown of Chicago, Illinois on Saturday (August 12), Durk, born Durk Derrick Banks, held a concert at the United Center. The show was packed out with hundreds of fans cheering him on and rapping along to his greatest hits new and old.
However, things suddenly turned chaotic and the rapper was not able to finish out his show as strong as it had been going. As the rapper was nearing the end of the concert, cops at the venue suddenly rushed all areas, trying to get people to safety, after on-site officials received reports of there being an active shooter on the premises of the concert.

Several clips from the incident went viral showing hundreds of fans fleeing their seats and trying to find the nearest exits. Police on site were armed, wielding weapons, as they tried to get people to safety, but also remain vigilant for any possible armed suspects to take down.
As the pandemonium continued to erupt with concertgoers fleeing; and with cops armed with their rifles, on the hunt for the possible suspect, things soon calmed down. Officials with the Chicago Police Department were alerted to the reports received on-site and investigated. Their findings proved that there were no active shooters and everything turned out to be a false alarm.

Unfortunately, it is reported that Chicago has been on high alert in recent times, with shootings becoming more and more prevalent, and tragically more frequent in highly populated places. Being so, this led to the hysteria and the immediate response from all police personnel and local law enforcement nearby.
Fortunately, with the reports turning out to be false, there haven’t been any updates of anyone being injured or hurt, nor arrested. However, it was learned that some fans, as they were fleeing the arena, decided to take advantage of the opportunity and hijack Durk’s merchandise tables; which apparently were abandoned by its workers who ran with the rest of the crowd in fear of the false reports.
Taking to his Instagram, Lil Durk ended up breaking his silence after the incident. He said, “Don’t belive the hype. We bigger than big. Thank you, Chicago. ‘Till next time.” Durk also addressed the little thieves who grabbed up all of his merch and he said, “And who all stole the merchandise, tag me so I can repost y’all crazy a**.”
