Was Lil Tay’s death hoax just another clout-chasing moment or was she actually a real victim of internet hacking? While many people continue to try and figure out the real answer, it appears that META is now confirming that her account was actually compromised.

In a statement to @tmz_tv, the parent company of both Facebook and Instagram explained that it stepped in to help the 14-year-old restore her account after a hacker gained access.

Although Meta didn’t share more information about the alleged hacking like how long the hacker had access to her account or the location, a spokesperson for Meta says the young star is being truthful.
