Looks like folks are sharing photos on the internet of their wounds after getting attacked by bed bugs while staying at some of the most expensive hotels in Las Vegas. Circus Circus, Caesars Palace, Planet Hollywood, Palazzo, Tropicana, MGM Grand, and Sahara were on the list of high-end places that have fell victim to the invasion of bed bugs.
Health officials have reportedly been inspecting these hotels for quite some time now. As outlined in a Southern Nevada Health District complaint Circus Circus executive was notified of bed bugs in a room after a guest was bitten in January of 2022. The room was inspected and bed bugs were found, placing it and nearby rooms out of service for a two-week treatment. Now in a new complaint the hotels that we listed above are all being inspected by health officials. MGM Grand responded to the complaints and released a statement to 8 News Now and said, “We have comprehensive procedures in place to address and resolve any issue that may arise.”
The Tropicana Las Vegas also responded after being hit with bed bugs this year in February, and a spokesperson told 8 News in a statement, “While highly unlikely, in the event of a complaint, we immediately isolate the affected room and its surrounding areas.” One Vegas pest control expert told KLAS that bed bugs are invariably brought into hotels by guests, given the sheer volume of tourists that come through the casino capital on any given day, and suggested guests examine mattresses for signs of infestation whenever staying at a high-traffic venue.
If your not familiar with bed bugs, they are small, parasitic insects that feed on the blood of humans and animals while they sleep. They are typically found in and around areas where people sleep or spend extended periods of time. Contrary to popular belief, bed bugs are not caused by poor hygiene or dirtiness; they can infest clean environments as well. One common way bed bugs can be introduced into a home is through travel. If you stay in accommodations like hotels, motels, or hostels that have bed bug infestations, these pests can hitch a ride on your luggage, clothing, or belongings and come back home with you.

Also buying secondary furniture can be a major cause as well, especially mattresses, sofas, or chairs, can lead to a bed bug infestation. If the furniture was infested before, the bugs might be hiding within the crevices.
