After more than a decade of being a part of Fox News, Tucker Carlson announced his departure from the network. This news came as a shock to many viewers who had grown accustomed to seeing him on their screens every night. But why did Tucker Carlson leave Fox News despite having his own show?
The reasons behind his departure are still unclear, but some speculate that it may have been due to disagreements with Fox News executives over the direction of the network or perhaps a desire for a new challenge. However, in a statement, Fox said they came to a joint decision to part ways. It was also said that Carlson will not appear on Fox News again in his current role. His last broadcast, Fox News said, took place on Friday which means he will not be able to bid farewell to his viewers.
“FOX News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways. We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor. Mr. Carlson’s last program was Friday April 21st,” the network wrote. “Fox News Tonight will air live at 8 PM/ET starting this evening as an interim show helmed by rotating FOX News personalities until a new host is named.”

The last thing his Fox News fans saw was his Friday interview with a pizza-delivery guy who helped stop a thief. The last thing they heard him say was: “The entire episode of ‘Let Them Eat Bugs’ — not quite as good as pizza — streaming now on Fox Nation.” Followed by: “We’ll be back on Monday.” He would not be.
Tucker Carlson was one of the most influential voices on Fox News and his show was one of the highest-rated programs on the network. Although he often received tons of backlash for his controversial views on trending topics, he continuously made headlines with his outspoken opinions.
Despite that, his departure from Fox News is sure to leave a void in the network’s lineup and it will be interesting to see who and how they fill it.
