Sukihana addressed the heavy criticism she received during her recent appearance on “The Jason Lee Show” after speaking on her sexuality. The “Casamigos” rapper stopped by “The Breakfast Club” on Friday, where Jess Hilarious had quizzed her about whether she identified as gay or bisexual.
Sukihana said she didn’t want to label herself, particularly after the backlash she got on “JLS” when she told HU Founder Jason Lee she was gay.
After the interview had aired, Suki explained to Jess, Charlamagne Tha God and DJ Envy how she observed the comment section and noticed many people trying to insinuate that she really wasn’t gay by saying things such as, “shout out to the people that are really gay and going through things.”
Suki added, “They’re so judgmental in the comments, and that’s why a lot of these men are DL. And that’s why a lot of people don’t want to come out of the closet and say what they like.”
“I’m so confused. She said she’s gay but mostly talked about how she likes sleeping with men,” one observant user wrote in the comment section on the “JLS.” Another person continued, “Idk if I believe Suki saying she’s gay. Lol. She always be rapping about sleeping with men and how many times you see her making out with girls?”
Sukihana also spoke on the short-lived feud she shared with Lil Mama after the pair engaged in a back-and-forth spat on social media earlier this month. As you’ll probably recall, Lil Mama was not pleased to see video footage of Suki taken from a recent music video shoot with NLE Choppa who held onto her hair and practically walked her like a dog.
When the clip surfaced on social media, a lot of people sounded off on how they felt Sukihana was setting black women back by engaging in those sorts of public acts, including the “Lip Gloss” rapper.
But while talking to Jess Hilarious, Charlamagne Tha God, and DJ Envy, Sukihana cleared up the misunderstanding by saying she may have gone a little too hard on Lil Mama because she later understood that she actually meant no harm with her comment.
“I know she didn’t mean anything wrong […] Lil Mama is actually a good person,” Suki said. “And it’s so sad that the world has been against her since the Jay-Z and Alicia Keys thing, but she was having fun. Honestly, I feel no type of way. She been in the game for a minute.”
And while Suki has no issues with Lil Mama anymore, she added that things could’ve been handled differently on the latter’s end. Instead of commenting publicly about it, the 31-year-old added that Lil Mama could have simply hopped into her DMs and sent her a message, which would have probably avoided all the drama that erupted, to begin with.
