Bodycam footage of Odell Beckham Jr. being escorted off an American Airlines airplane back in November has been released, showing the athlete engaging in a dispute with Miami-Dade Police. As previously reported, Odell was removed from the plane after crew members claimed he had been “in and out of consciousness” while they tried to get him to fasten his seatbelt.
Staff members were said to have been concerned enough to call the police. The bodycam footage shows the moment cops stepped foot on the plane and approached Odell, who appeared groggy and clearly not in the mood to speak with law enforcement officials. “I’ve never had this happen to me,” he said after being told he needed to get off the flight.

“You’re everything wrong with the world,” Odell told a passenger who asked him to exit the plane so the aircraft could take off. “Looking at me to get off a plane, for you. I would never, ever in my life get off the plane for you. Specifically you. Maybe everybody else, I would get off the plane.” The recording then hears Odell tell call the passenger a “fat a**” and that he’s going to board a private plane home instead.
Odell did stick to his word and flew home to Los Angeles in a private jet as he later took to Instagram where he posted a video of himself with the caption, “Not today! Back to the regular.”
In a statement provided by the Miami-Dade Police Department at the time, they wrote, “The flight crew was concerned that a passenger (Mr. Odell Beckham Jr.) as they tried to wake him to fasten his seat belt, he appeared to be coming in and out of consciousness, prior to their departure.”

It was further mentioned that while crew members had asked him to step off the plane, Odell wouldn’t move until police officers got involved and escorted him off the aircraft. American Airlines, too, released a statement on their team’s behalf, reiterating previous claims he had asked to leave for “failing to follow crew members instructions and refusing to fasten (his) seatbelt.”
