Lisa Loring, Actress Who Played Original Wednesday Addams, Dies At 64

Another Hollywood star has passed away. Lisa Loring, the actress best known for her role as Wednesday Addams in the TV adaptation of “The Addams Family” from the ’60s, has died at the age of 64.

A representative for Loring confirmed the sad news in a statement to media outlets, revealing that she “passed away on Saturday surrounded by her family.”

“Lisa was a very loving Mother, Grandmother, and friend with a lifetime of amazing stories and experiences. She brought to life one of the most iconic characters in Hollywood history that is still celebrated today,” the representative said to ABC News in a statement. “Lisa loved sharing her memories and meeting all her fans across the world. She will be missed dearly.”

According to her daughter Vanessa Foumberg, Loring died of complications from a stroke caused by high blood pressure. “She went peacefully with both her daughters holding her hands,” Foumberg told the Hollywood Reporter.

“It is with great sadness that I report the death of our friend, Lisa Loring,” family friend Laurie Jacobson posted on Facebook Sunday. “4 Days ago she suffered a massive stroke brought on by smoking and high blood pressure.”

“She had been on life support for 3 days. Yesterday, her family made the difficult decision to remove it and she passed last night,” Jacobson added.

Last year, Loring was highlighted for her iconic dance called “The Drew” after it gained attention again with the new Netflix series “Wednesday,” in which Jenna Ortega does her own interpretation of Wednesday’s dance.

Aside from “The Addams Family,” Loring joined Phyllis Diller’s sitcom “The Pruitts of Southampton,” after it finished its two-season run. She also made appearances on series like “The Girl From U.N.C.L.E.,” “Fantasy Island” and “Barnaby Jones.” She then landed a recurring role as Cricket Montgomery on “As the World Turns” from 1980 to 1983.

Loring was married four times during her life. She was a mother to two children, both daughters.
