Miley Cyrus’ dad Billy Ray Cyrus is wasting no time after going separate ways with her mother Tish Cyrus back in April because, according to reports, the “Achy Breaky Heart” singer recently became engaged to singer Firerose. While it’s unclear when Billy popped the question, fans have noticed that Firerose has been wearing a diamond ring on her wedding finger in her recent Instagram snaps, which were photographed by Billy himself.
While the pair has not commented on reports of their reported engagement, insiders told The Sun that Miley’s dad is “happier than he has been in a long time” in his new relationship, and if marriage is already the talking point in their romance, things are clearly going well for the pair. “There had been problems in his marriage for a while,” a source said. “He and Tish have been on and off for the best part of a decade, but things had been over for some time before the announcement in April.”

As we previously reported, Miley allegedly hasn’t seen eye-to-eye with her father since her mom’s decision to file for divorce earlier this year, which would strongly imply that the marriage downfall may have been caused by something Billy did. The “Wrecking Ball” star apparently hadn’t kept in close contact with her father since the split, but family members — who appear to be a little more understanding — hope that the friction between Miley and Billy will soon come to an end.
“There has been some tension with Miley, which is sad to see, but everyone is hopeful that they will be able to get over it soon enough,” a source continued. “Thankfully his other kids do not have an issue with him and he has just collaborated with his youngest, Noah, on a song.”
In the court documents filed by Tish in April, she cited “irreconcilable differences” as her reason for filing the legal paperwork, further mentioning that the pair hadn’t lived together in at least two years. Tish and Billy started dating back in 1991 before welcoming Miley — their first child together — into the world the following year.

By 1993, Tish and Billy went ahead and tied the knot in a low-key wedding ceremony held in their living room and extended their family with the addition of son Braison and daughter Noah. The divorce filing in April is the third time the pair had wanted to call it quits on their marriage, but the previous attempts were called off as things appeared to have gotten better in the ex-couple’s relationship.
This time, however, it’s clear as day that Miley’s parents will not be reconciling.
