PRAYERS: Singer Amanda Perez is reminding fans to put their health first as she reveals she’s been recovering in the hospital after suffering multiple strokes.
On Friday (October 16), the “Angel” singer took to her Instagram to update fans about her hospitalization and subsequent cancelled shows.
Wile sitting in a hospital bed, she said:
“Hello everyone, I’m making this video not only for my fans for this weekend. I had shows coming up Denver, Colorado, Orlando, Florida, but just to bring awareness for the past few weeks I’ve been sick and anybody that knows me knows that I’m such a strong person and that I kind of fight through everything no matter what. But this time I can’t.”
Perez continued:
“I’m in the hospital because I’ve had a few strokes. My family has a history of heart problems. My father died of a stroke. His sister died of heart problems. His father passed away from heart problems very young. I want people to know that you need to get checked no matter what age you are. I’m going to work on getting better. I want you guys all to know that I love you and I would never never just cancel a show because out of all the years that I’ve done this I’ve never done that. I hope that my fans this weekend understand that I have to get better and that I love you and I’m sorry. I want all of you out there to make sure that you get checked because you just never know what could happen. I will keep everybody updated. My wife will keep everybody updated. I just wanted to let you guys know that I’m grateful for all you fans and I love you very much.”
Perez’s wife, Stephanee Cabrera Perez, also posted to her own Instagram account. On her page, she reposted the singer’s video. She also shared a video of her laying with and consoling the singer in the hospital bed. She continued to share videos of the two while adding emojis.
Rapper Baby Bash also spoke out to share prayers for Perez. While taking to Instagram, he wrote:
“Damn,, I Don’t like hearing this about my Homegirl Amanda Perez,,
prayers for a full recovery,, me and her been traveling the world for the last 25 Years,,, and shes Right,, health is wealth!! Hopefully she gets better soon and gets back to Spreading the Gift of Music.”
Rapper Fat Joe commented on Bash’s post and wrote, “God bless
