#Socialites, join us congratulating Oscar-winning actress Hilary Swank who is expecting her third child with husband Philip Schneider, announcing the news on Wednesday in a video on Instagram!
The 52-year-old shared the clip showing the couple and their 3-year-old twins, Aya and Ohm, dancing in the dark with glow sticks attached to their bodies, while a baby shape outlined in glow sticks appears over her growing belly.
The announcement was made without a formal statement or interview. In the caption, Swank said people had been asking about her next project and wrote that “this one releases in December.”
The pregnancy comes a little more than three years after the couple became first-time parents. Swank and Schneider, who married in 2018, welcomed their twins in April 2023, when she was 48. She revealed that first pregnancy in October 2022 during an appearance on Good Morning America, telling viewers she was expecting two children. When the babies arrived, she posted a photo of herself holding them and wrote, “It wasn’t easy. But boy (and girl!) was it worth it.”
Swank has spoken publicly about becoming a mother later in life and how she views the timing. She told Parade that she feels blessed to have children at this stage, and that having spent years devoted to her career, which she described as another baby of hers, allows her to focus on her kids now and work when she chooses.
She has also addressed the physical side of motherhood. Speaking to Women’s Health last year, she described the goal as “bouncing forward into our new bodies and selves” rather than returning to a pre-baby body.
Fans have been sending her congratulations and positive messages in her comment section since the big news, with many telling her she got this as this will be her third go around. Congrats!
