Kamala Harris Says She May Run for President Again: ‘I’m Not Done’

Looks like Kamala Harris isn’t hanging up her political heels just yet.

The former vice president and 2024 Democratic nominee who went head-to-head with Donald Trump hinted that she might step back into the presidential ring… one day.

“I am not done,” Harris told the BBC in an interview that aired Saturday, dropping her strongest hint yet that she’s still got her eyes on 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. When asked if she could “possibly” still become president, she didn’t hesitate “Possibly,” she said with that trademark Kamala smirk.

The California native, who made history as the first Black and South Asian woman to serve as vice president, reminded folks that public service is in her DNA. “I have lived my entire career as a life of service, and it’s in my bones,” she said.

Harris’ last run came after a wild political twist — President Joe Biden bowed out just 107 days before Election Day, leaving Harris to carry the Democratic banner. Despite a fiery campaign, she fell short against Trump in November 2024.

After the loss, Harris took some time to reflect and write. Her memoir, 107 Days, dropped earlier this year and gave readers an inside look at the rollercoaster campaign. At the time, she made it sound like her D.C. days were behind her.

“I’ll no longer sit in DC in the grandeur of the ceremonial office,” she wrote. “I will be with the people, in towns and communities where I can listen to their ideas on how we rebuild trust, empathy, and a government worthy of the ideals of this country.”

But fast-forward a few months, and the tone has clearly shifted. When asked about her young nieces and whether they’ll live to see a woman president, Harris didn’t miss a beat: “Within their lifetime for sure.” And when pressed if that woman could be her? She smiled and said again… “Possibly.”

Whether that’s political code for “I’m getting the band back together” or just Kamala keeping her options open, one thing’s clear: she’s not out of the game. And if there’s one thing we’ve learned about Harris, she doesn’t quit easy.

Looks like the story of Kamala Harris and the White House might still have a few more chapters left.
