GloRilla Speaks on Her Arrest Following Break-In at Her Home: ‘We Were Victims’

Imagine getting the call that your home’s been robbed while you’re at work. You rush to hear updates, praying the cops caught the people who stole your stuff—only for the police to turn around and try to arrest you instead. That’s exactly what rapper GloRilla says happened to her, and now she’s speaking out in her first sit-down interview to clear her name.

The wild incident went down two months ago while GloRilla, whose real name is Gloria Woods, was in Indianapolis performing during the WNBA All-Star Weekend. As we previously reported, three armed intruders broke into her Forsyth County home in the middle of the night.

Details on the Break-In at GloRilla’s Home

The intruders managed to grab several expensive items, but a family member fired shots at the suspects, forcing them to flee before police arrived. Investigators later discovered a significant amount of marijuana when they searched the home, and GloRilla was shockingly charged with felony possession.

“The homeowner is a victim of a serious crime, and we are committed to bringing the suspects to justice,” said Sheriff Ron Freeman right after her arrest. “At the same time, we must continue to uphold and enforce the law in all aspects of this case.”

GloRilla Speaks Out on the Arrest

The rap star voluntarily turned herself in and was released on bond the same day. Speaking with Channel 2’s Michael Seiden, she and her legal team addressed what they called a “misguided investigation.”

“I feel like me, and my brother and sister, we were victims in this situation,” she said. “But somehow, they’re trying to paint us out to be suspects, and I just feel like it’s all the way wrong.”

Her attorney Drew Findling added, “Over $700,000 of items were stolen from her home, and so her brother and sister naturally called the police when this was all going on.”

Attorney Slams Law Enforcement’s Priorities

Findling continued, “The most egregious part is that there seems to be no movement whatsoever in this home invasion, but rather, within 24 hours, there were warrants for her arrest for a marijuana possession case. That’s unconscionable.”

Because of this, GloRilla and her legal team say they are now considering launching their own investigation. As seen with other celebrities like cases covered in national outlets, public pressure can shift the narrative around who’s really the victim.

Where Things Stand Now

It’s still unclear if the suspects behind the robbery have been caught. Until then, Socialites, drop your thoughts in the comments below—was Glo really done dirty here, or is there more to the story? Stay tuned as Hollywood Unlocked continues to update you on this developing case.
