Whew, baby! Kamala Harris did not come to play. The former Vice President hopped on The Weekly Show with Jon Stewart this week and straight-up torched President Trump over what she’s calling “the most tone-deaf project of the decade” a massive new White House ballroom that’s reportedly running up a tab of nearly $350 million.
Now, mind you, this is all happening while the government’s in shutdown mode and food aid programs are on the verge of being cut off. And Kamala? Yeah, she’s had enough…
“Are you f–king kidding me?” she snapped, clearly fed up. “This guy wants to create a ballroom for his rich friends while completely turning a blind eye to the fact that babies are going to starve when the SNAP benefits end in just hours from now. Come on.”
Say what you want, but she was speaking straight from the gut and this time with no filter.
The drama started after news broke that demolition had already kicked off in the East Wing to make way for the new ballroom. According to Trump’s team, the luxury space will span a jaw-dropping 90,000 square feet and hold up to 1,000 guests.
The original $200 million price tag has ballooned to a cool $350 million, but the White House insists Trump is personally chipping in… though nobody’s saying exactly how much.
Still, Harris wasn’t done. She pressed the point like only she can.
“I’m not going to be distracted by, ‘Oh, does the guy have a big f–king hammer!?’ What about those babies!?” she fired off, zeroing in on what she says are misplaced priorities from the Oval Office.
Then she wrapped it up by saying:
“It’s important we not conflate disruption with destruction.”
Meanwhile, social media lit up with folks praising Harris for calling out what many are calling “rich-people politics” at its finest, while others clapped back, saying the renovations are part of “restoring prestige” to the White House…mhmm.
Either way, one thing’s for sure, Kamala didn’t mince words. She came with that fire, and it’s clear she’s standing on business and how she feels!
