PJ Washington Reportedly Paying Brittany Renner $5,500 A Month In Child Support Per Court Docs Surfacing After His $90M Mavericks Contract Extension

New court documents reveal NBA star PJ Washington is reportedly paying his ex-girlfriend and child’s mother Brittany Renner $5,500 a month in child support. Previously, there has been online speculation of him paying in the $200,000 range, but Renner later clarified in an August 2022 interview that she only got “2,500 a month.”

Washington and Renner first began dating after he appeared to shoot his shot at her. Renner was attending one of his games as he played for the University of Kentucky Wildcats in 2019. They went official in 2020 and in 2021, Washington confirmed they had a baby boy together.

However, they soon split. Washington then went on to marry Alisah Chanel and welcome a son together. Altogether, they share three children, Washington’s son with Renner, his with Chanel, and Chanel’s kid from a prior relationship.

Brittany Renner And PJ Washington’s Child Support Court Docs Surface Weeks After He Signs $90 Million Mavericks Contract Extension

The reported documents, obtained by TMZ Sports, reveals Washington was required to make the payments as part of a consent order issued in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. The docs have a start date of November 2024. Additionally, the paperwork states that Washington was also ordered to pay a lump sum of $130,000 to satisfy “any and all existing child support accruing prior to the entry of this consent order, as well as for [Renner’s] attorney’s fees.”

Per TMZ, the newly-surfaced docs arrive as Renner filed a notice in Los Angeles County court this month. She is attempting to continue collecting the child support in California. This, despite the order initially being entered in North Carolina.

In her new filing, Renner claimed Washington owes $0 in arrears. This suggests that the Dallas Mavericks player — who was first drafted to the Charlotte Hornets in 2019 — has been current on his required child support payments.

The docs also surface weeks after Washington signed a $90 million contract extension with the Mavericks. In the new deal, Washington agreed to a four-year, $90 million contract extension with the franchise. Agent Kevin Bradbury of Lift Sports Management broke the news to ESPN on September 3.

Before the new contract, Washington had one season left on his current deal for $14.1 million. After signing his new deal, he is now ineligible to be traded during the 2025-26 NBA season.
