While preparing to catch a Delta flight to Houston on Wednesday, authorities discovered a stolen firearm stowed away in her stylish Louis Vuitton purse. The drama unfolded when security officials noticed the piece during their screening. It turns out this wasn’t just any firearm; it had a past, hailing from the streets of Greenville, South Carolina.

With law enforcement on the scene quicker than you can say “airport runway,” Banks, (real name Erica Scharmane Breaux) was taken into custody.

Booked into the Clayton County Jail at 9:50 PM, Erica’s stay was short-lived; she was back on the streets by 11:12 PM.

To help navigate this legal labyrinth, she’s enlisted the help of a well-known attorney known as The Fly Lawyer (formerly Jackie Patterson). He explained to Channel 2’s Tom Jones,

“It is our contention that when she was caught with this weapon, she had no idea it was stolen. She is not guilty of any offense. My mission? To keep this little hiccup from casting a shadow over her career and have those charges dismissed faster than a plotline cut from the series.”
